February 7th is the worst day of the year for Shadow the Hedgehog. It is, of course, the day he lost everything. It's been ten years since he fell to Mobius, and each year on this day he gets absolutely wasted in an attempt to dull the pain of grief, though it never seems to work the way he wants it to. This year he runs into Sonic after moving back to town after a mission, and the two catch up a bit while getting absolutely wasted. After that... they get a little friendly. A little too friendly. When Shadow wakes up the next morning, he's in Sonic's bed. Next to Sonic.

“When did that start?"
He threw a napkin at her as she laughed at her own joke. “As I was saying,” he drawled. “I’m used to tamping down my abilities for most situations, but with you… it’s more difficult than I’d thought it would be. It’s like the fragment of the Samadhi Fire still inside of you draws my own fire to itself when we’re close or I let my guard down.”
Mei pondered that. “You mean you’ve been trying to hold back your feelings all this time?”
“I didn’t want to, but yes.”
“Because you’re afraid of setting me on fire.”
Red Son huffed. “Well it sounds ridiculous when you put it like that, but it almost happened earlier!”

After a series of unfortunate events leaves Abaddon mercilessly bound to a human vessel and barred from returning home, he resolves to wait at the site of his greatest failure for Hell to come and retrieve him, even if that means waiting for the rest of eternity. And he sticks to that resolve, he really does. Until one day a man welcomes him into his hotel, and Abaddon learns that his longing for home does not have to stop him from finding a new one.

Nathan, after finding Abaddon, has been doing his best, honestly. It was nice to have living company at the Undervale, even if it was a possessed demon child from the 1700s, but god was parenting hard!
A probably small growing collection of stories from before Nathan became a ghost and how he probably helped Abaddon not be so, well, Abaddon, and maybe some after, who knows. First time posting anything, so don't expect anything wild, I just love this series a ton!
