"Do you ever dream of coming home?"
"Home...? Do you mean to Camulus?" Mercedes stared into the distance as she considered his words, and Dimitri couldn't help but be charmed by the way her nose scrunched slightly. "I don't know that I've ever thought of Camulus as home. I'm grateful, of course — they took us in after we'd fled the Bartels, but... well, my adoptive father was from Fhirdiad. I eventually went to the School of Sorcery, as you know, and then to Garreg Mach, and now I'm back in Fhirdiad." She glanced Dimitri's way before continuing her sewing, a slight smile on her face. "I consider Fhirdiad my home these days. There's quite a bit that keeps me there, after all."
Dimitri's heart skipped a beat. "Yes, you've been quite busy," he said quickly, nearly bending the needle in his hand.
Mercedes chuckled. "I don't just mean the work, Dimitri," she said quietly. "It's been wonderful to be able to see you, even with how busy you are — and Dedue and Annette too, of course."
There — an opportunity. Dimitri took a slow breath and watched her face for a reaction. "If I may be selfish... I would much like you to stay by my side a bit longer."

Summary
Two years after the Tragedy of Duscur, Blaiddyd and Fraldarius forces unite on the battlefield to suppress the rebellion of a western lord. Among them are Felix, Dimitri, and Dimitri's now-retainer Dedue, who will be meeting Felix for the first time. Amid personal and political tensions, Dimitri and Felix struggle to reunite, while Felix and Dedue shyly court friendship. All three are tragically unaware that the violence to come will also rend apart this fragile bond.
