Louis was not feeling especially charitable towards him at the moment, so as far as true love’s kiss went (a cliche, as if getting cursed wasn't bad enough), Lestat would be getting nowhere.
But it didn’t matter at all. Lestat was scared and miserable and he had a tail and he needed to see him.
Lestat gets on the bad side of a witch. Louis, against his better judgement, gets a cat.

Updating this bookmark bc it turns out I've accidentally been saving everything under my side account for 4ish years lmao. I feel like I might have left a review that said this, but fyi this is still my favorite Loustat fic of all time. One million stars. No one else quite nails the balance of silliness, down right absurdity, drama and fatal, star-eating devotion like you do, and to me this fic is the most fun, mother fucking delightful encapsulation of that!!! The first surprise (besides seeing a fledgling vampire gathering rats on Rue Royale, besides feeling Lestat’s presence like an electric-shock hum beneath his skin as he followed that same fledgling into grimier, rundown corners of the city that was his, once, besides seeing Lestat miserable and quiet and clutching at his wooden mockery of a piano) is that it’s Lestat who pulls away first. The second surprise is the reason why.
