No one in their weary downtrodden group were making attempts to engage with the others in conversation anymore, and the air between them had turned sour. It was almost if the desperation and finality of their situation was beginning to set in.

Or, the trip to Maashava and the subsequent imprisonment of the party was more brutal than portrayed originally in Erak’s Ransom. For Halt and Gilan in particular, the trip is less then pleasant and both face doubts and worries about the past and future.
