Shadows of black envelop Wei Ying, caressing the edges of his robes, mixing with his half-unbound hair. Thick smoke lingers in front of his face, and all he can make out are red eyes, a sharp smile, like a knife cutting through the dark fog.
A sense of wrongness fills him, smothering the surge of hope and happiness and relief.

Summary
His long hair, gathered into a braid, is perfectly in place, not a wrinkle on his fancy clothes. He must be older than Wei Ying, although he couldn’t tell by how much. The unnatural perfection is what had attracted Wei Ying to him in the first place: in the flashing lights of the club, he had looked like a jade statue. Nie Huaisang, noticing where Wei Ying’s eyes had drifted to, had dared him to ask the guy to dance and well. The rest is history.

Summary
In a world where alphas and omegas have powers, only alphas were allowed to become heros. Omegas were deemed to unreliable, due to being ticking time bombs due to their heats. Lan Wangji knew the risks when he forged his status as an alpha so that he could become a hero. Being pestered by a supervillain who wanted to marry him wasn't one he expected.
But perhaps there's more to this villain than meets the eye.
