Summary
He sighs and begins to take notes on the mutilation and how she was killed. He sketches out the claw marks and notes the clean cuts. "Thanks Gem," he says as he leaves the morgue. As he was leaving, he decides to investigate the dump site. It was the same as last time, so it was the ditch off of the south part of the woods. He looks down into the ditch, the dry dirt crumbling beneath his feet, sending him sliding to the bottom.
He surveys the ground for anything that could tell him what happened to the poor girl, but upon first glance he could find nothing. Upon looking more closely, he finds a large red feather the size of his arm. It was the same bright red as the feathers of tropical birds that he would see in the documentaries he likes to watch.

In the town of Hermitville, there is a forest, and inside that forest lays many untold mysteries. Signs line the forest edge, warning people not to enter, for everyone who does never returns. A detective named Grian Sparrow decides to take up the case, only to find a man living in the woods who seems to be a little odd. Something more is going on than meets the eye, and the culprit may be closer than he ever could have imagined. -

Summary
Martyn pulls on a coat to go outside into the snow. He wanted to take a look around for any sign of the vampires. The snow crunches beneath his boots as he makes his way through the woods. The mage hadn't allowed him outside till he was fully healed, but his head was perfectly fine now. Those spells had done wonders, even if they did make him a little high. That was certainly a side effect he hadn't been expecting. He doesn't quite know what he might have said while under the effects of the pain spells, and frankly, he doesn't want to.
He makes his way to where he's pretty sure Impulse found him and starts digging through the snow. When the dirt that sticks to his fingers is red, he knows he found the spot. He begins to dig through the snow for the things Impulse had made him leave behind when he took him in. It was mostly his hunting gear, but before the castle collapsed, he had managed to take one of Ren's rings. It hadn't been on him when he woke up, so he has to assume it was here.

“With all due respect, your majesty, I would prefer not to answer,” Grian responds, his wings twitching in annoyance. “Why have you called me here?”
“Of course, Grian,” Ren returns with a grin, standing up. He takes a few steps toward the avian before continuing, coming to a stop mere feet in front of him. “The reason I called you here is because I have received some information.”
“What kind of information?”
“Information regarding a certain…vampire lord.” Ren stops in front of Grian.
“The…vampire lord…?” Grian swallows. He'd learned about the vampire lord at the academy. 'Lord' was a generous title. He was simply called the 'Vampire Lord' because he was rumoured to be the first vampire in existence. All vampires stem from him, and he was almost all powerful. He was also said to be the son of a Watcher and a human, but those were just rumours. Ren wasn’t going to ask what he thinks he will, right?

Summary
When he finally comes back to reality, he was passed out on the floor. He was incredibly dizzy, and he felt sick. There was a constant dull throbbing in his head, as well as sweat beading on his forehead. He pushes himself off the floor, and only then does he realise that the king is in front of him, kneeling.
"What the hell happened?" Scar asks. "What was with your eyes? They went all purple!"
Grian lets out a small groan as he was yanked to his feet. He clutches his head as the contents of his vision sink in. His eyes widen and he whips his head towards the king's food. "The chicken," he whispers. He turns to the king before continuing. "You can't eat anything from the kitchen," he urges, grabbing the king by the arms.
"Tch. And why the hell not?"
"It's poisoned."
Scar's gaze snaps back to Grian. "And how do you know that exactly?"
"I- I can kinda sorta see the future," he explains quickly. "I'm not a witch! I'm an oracle! A- a- a uh- a prophet! Clairvoyant! A- a Watcher, a Seer! Whatever you want to call it!"

Summary
Lizzie watches her father's body by carted away by the undertaker. He had finally succumbed to whatever sickness he had after weeks. Her wool navy blue dress did nothing to help warm her as she stands outside the bakery, watching the cart until she can't see it any longer. She wishes Joel was here to comfort her, but he was only ever around at night. She thought it quite weird, but it doesn't concern her too much.
It seemed the incompetent doctors were right. He didn't last more than a month. It seems they aren't as incompetent as she thought. Without her father—and without a will—she doesn't get to work at her family's bakery. Someone new would buy it, and she would be left in the streets with no income. No way to buy food. Nowhere to sleep.
She wraps her coat around herself, holding back her tears. She can't see the cart anymore, so she goes back in. The bakery was still hers for now. She climbs the stairs, shedding her coat and curling up in her bed. She felt like she was going to throw up.
