“Rescue me?” Xie Lian arches an eyebrow at the man, mentally racking his brain to try and remember the scholar's name or anything else he can about him or his companions, but Xie Lian has spent far more time at Paradise Manor or in Puqi Shrine over the last few years than he has in the heavens and so these three young gods are barely known to him. “From what?”
The healer god, Wa Ying, lets out an exasperated huff of breath. “From that monster of course.”
Instantly Xie Lian stiffens, his back straightening and his tone cooling. “What monster?”
Wong Tu lets out a mocking laugh. “The one you call your husband of course and I told you before,” this to his companions, “he's not a victim. He's a willing participant.”
OR Post-Canon Xie Lian gets abducted by gods who don't like the influence Hua Cheng has over him...

Shouta looked up towards the villain that still ‚stood‘ at the other side of them,
„Not yet-„ Shouta looks back at the kid briefly before saying, „but, I’ll keep you safe“
Shouta said it with more finality that even he was used to, the kid started to tremble with tears coming to their eyes,
„Who even are ya!!? You know what!? I can killya! And when I’m done with you I’ll get you brat!“
The underground pro was about to rise to get in a fighting position but before he could the hand that he had on the kids shoulder was grabbed by a smaller shakier hand.
A bright light fills the underpass the moment their skin touches

The kid takes a breath in, trying to look casual, but failing miserably. “Have you really not noticed? Bakugou?”
Aizawa furrows his brow, crosses his arms and tries to calm the immediate sinking feeling in his chest. “What about Bakugou? Has he been bothering you?”
“Yes!” Shinsou blurts out. “Wait you meant— No. Not directly. I don’t think he knows who I am.”
Aizawa waits for him to explain.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Shinsou asks incredulously.

Xie Lian has been imprisoned in the coffin for who knows how long. When he finally gets out, he's met with a slew of problems- and an unexpected friend.

Xie Lian lay among a patch of brush for days or weeks, he couldn’t tell, letting his body knit itself together and grow accustomed to the brightness of the world. When he confirmed he was whole and unwounded, he snuck out to a river in the middle of the night to wash himself or drown himself, whichever came first. He didn’t look at his reflection– he didn’t want to know what a horrifying sight he must have been. He submerged himself completely, trying his hardest to clean the dirt and blood and who knows what else from his hair, his skin, and his robes. The water ran red and brown, and he didn’t leave the river until several hours later, when the stench of dried blood had lessened enough to be bearable. He thought maybe he’d drowned in the water. He crawled, dripping wet and shivering, to a meadow hidden in the woods, where he lay hoping that the sun would dry him off tomorrow.
It was there, the next day, that the red fox found him.

The red fox was quite sizeable for a fox, Xie Lian noted. Cute, yes– all foxes were, but this one stood about ten centimeters taller than a normal one. Xie Lian also catalogued, with interest, that this particular fox carried an air of confidence and had only one eye. It approached him quite boldly, and the silver butterfly flitted away at its entrance. Xie Lian watched it go, then turned his attention back to the fox. He didn’t say anything, hoping that the fox would get closer. It did, but stopped a little ways away, its single eye bright with curiosity. It didn’t seem too keen on leaving, so Xie Lian opened his mouth and tried to gather words in his throat.
“Hello,” he whispered, a bit proud that the first time he’d spoken hadn’t been a fluke.
