Mydei regards him thoughtfully, "…I saw Dawn. It was the film that drew me to this university."
His heart races as he croaks out, "Really?"
"Yes," he pauses as if trying to find the right words to say, "People get hung up on the technical marvel of it, but I think at its core it's about someone who is a victim of their circumstances, weighed down by everyone's expectations and his own, but you've already heard enough of other peoples' thoughts on your film, haven't you?"
"I haven't heard enough of yours," he says softly.
As a teaching assistant for one of the least sought after electives, Phainon ends up having to partner up with one of his students, Mydei—a quiet yet warm-hearted man who seems far divorced from the image of a film major—while also having to juggle his film thesis and creative burnout in order to graduate.
Together they find out there’s more than meets the eye as they direct each other’s films.

Summary
While Mydei had been smiling at the camera, Phainon’s eyes were glued to Mydei’s face, an adoring smile on his lips. It amazes him sometimes, how obvious Phainon’s affection for him was.
“And miss out on one of Amphoreus’ top ten most beautiful faces?” Phainon teases, pressing a kiss on Mydei’s cheek. It’s Mydei’s turn to be flustered it seems, a reversal of the flirting Mydei had initiated earlier. “No thank you.”
“HKS,” Mydei huffs, then bends down. Phainon watches curiously, but he catches on quick when he sees Mydei scoop up enough snow to roll into a ball. “You have five seconds.”
“Wait!” Phainon laughs, already running for shelter. He runs in front of a wall and his eyes widen when Mydei throws the snowball so hard that it explodes on the wall next to Phainon’s head, leaving smoke behind. “Holy Kephale—that could’ve killed me!”
“No, it couldn’t,” Mydei denies calmly, readying his next snowball. Phainon eeps, rushing to hide behind a tree trunk this time. “Brace yourself, husband. We shall have a duel to the death.”

Castorice’s expression turns from worried to simply blank. “Okay, let me get this straight. You came running here without warning, didn’t even say hi to me before you began vomiting in my toilet, and now we’re both sitting on a dirty bathroom floor. All because you found out Mydei slept with someone else. But you don’t like Mydei romantically.”
Phainon is confused about why the other woman is just repeating the situation. Nonetheless, she affirms, “Yes, exactly.”

Since they first met, Mydei has always been aware of her feelings for Phainon. In Phainon’s case however, it takes her three years, a failed date, and finding out that she’s not Mydei’s only fuckbuddy to discover two things: (1) she’s always been in love with her best friend and (2) the view is perfect from the top (of Mydei).
