“I’ve got a lot on my mind,” Matt says vaguely.
Foggy pauses. They don’t have any particularly difficult cases at the moment… “It’s not Daredevil stuff?”
“Not Daredevil stuff,” Matt confirms, and seeing his eyes helps Foggy know he’s telling the truth.
“Girl stuff?” Foggy tries, despite the way his chest squeezes just thinking about it.
Matt’s lips twitch. “Not exactly.”

“What are you looking for?” Foggy had asked Matt, when they were young and drunk and ready to graduate law school and enter the real world. Together, of course. Matt couldn’t picture his future without Foggy, even then.
“I don't know. I guess just someone I really like listening to,” Matt had told him. Back then, he thought he wanted to find someone whose voice he loved as much as he loved Foggy’s. Now…he just wants Foggy.
(5 times Matt liked listening to Foggy’s voice + 1 time Matt shut him up.)

Summary
The first time Foggy meets Hell's Kitchen's resident vigilante, it’s of course when he is being mugged.
It’s really more of a sad affair, than anything else. For everyone involved, as it so happens, in some kind of ironic and pathetic way.
At least Foggy knows better than to have more than fifty bucks on his person when he is walking along past eleven at night. He sells it a little by including a (fake) frequent customer stampcard for Josie’s Bar that she never, not even once, has let him use. Some day.
