Danny knows that it was either he come to an event like this or Ellie did, so there was really no choice on the matter. Still, wearing a suit and pretending to be human (fully human) wasn't the worst way he could spend his evening away from the Infinite Realms and his seemingly infinite responsibilities since acquiring the throne. Galavanting with the upper crust of Gotham with his father by his side while trading glances at the hot Wayne boy whom his core melted for wasn't the worst. Sneaking off and having his little stalker follow him outside wasn't the worst by far. Even being interrupted and held hostage wasn't the worst.
The worst came when he got shot in the chest and didn't bat an eye.

After four wonderful years of raising the baby he found in a spaceship 60 miles away from Metropolis, Bruce is blissfully happy. His son Jonathan was his pride and joy and no one was taking that away from him. Not even his allegedly deceased biological father, Kal-el, Krypton's golden boy and greatest inventor, he could never measure up in terms of intelligence but it would be a cold day in Hell before he let some stranger take his baby.

Summary
After his father suffers a stroke, Dean moves back to Lawrence to take care of him. Cas stays behind in Boston to continue his PhD. Neither of them is all too happy about it but it’s just for a few months.
Except then it’s suddenly not and their relationship starts to suffer under the distance. Finding time for each other, and not fighting gets more and more difficult. But at least there's Christmas, where Cas visits and Dean becomes very aware of how much he wants to marry him.
Who would have thought that it would only go downhill from there?

Superman gets used to fighting alongside Batman. Strategies unmatched and a wide set of knowledge about most necessary matters encountered in the bat’s path have put the man of steel’s rather stylized way of fighting in a more tranquil stance ever since they ever decided to join forces. They evolved into neat partners, able to perfectly comprehend their battlefield needs, and their personal ones too, never threading paths too far from one another even in their different areas– meaning, both geographically and morally.
And maybe that's why Clark's heart sank when he met Robin, scared, looking way too small in a cape and suit too big for him, eyes sparkling through his need to fight and to prove himself fit for the size of a hero the world needs him to be. Bold were his moves, and his ecstatic urge to live despite the pain he felt with every punch he received, just a few seconds before getting up again and dodging every next one.

Then: There are rumors of a faith healer performing miracles all over the Midwest. Dean Winchester knows damn well that miracles ain't real and that faith healers are full of shit, but this one... This one might just be the real deal. And he's not the only one who thinks that.
Castiel Novak knows a thing or two about faith healers and although Dean would normally never dream of dragging a civilian along on a case, he could really use Cas' expertise here. Besides, with Sammy off at Stanford and John barking orders at him from three states away, Dean is pretty fucking lonely. And Castiel, with his kind eyes and his uncanny ability to get under Dean's skin in all the best ways, fits into the Impala's passenger seat just right.
Until, of course, it all comes crashing down around them.
Now: It's been five years since Castiel last saw Dean, but when he gets a call in the middle of the night, he recognizes the voice on the other end of the line immediately. Dean is in trouble and he needs Castiel's help. And, well.
Castiel always comes when Dean calls.
