They were a simple puppet, not a person. A receptacle, something that replaced the empty body made especially for the angel. Except they weren't empty; they were full of emotions, of love and hatred and sadness, and the SOUL was too much, it could not fit in their mind already so crowded.
Kris can't understand the SOUL's plans. They can't talk to anyone about t, or they might hurt someone without wanting it. They do anyway, and bitterly regret it.
