Summary
Miles had a secret.
Well, he had quite a few.
The first was that he had been in a band before he became Spider-Man. He had taken a break to figure out his powers before he returned.
The second was that Miguel O'Hara was his uncle from his mother's side, but from another universe.
The third was something he didn't advertise but didn't really hide either. If someone asked him, he would tell them. He was gay. He didn't hide it, but he didn't talk about it either.When he was introduced to Spider Society at HQ when he had been sixteen, he had been awestruck. Even more-so when he was introduced to Spider-Punk, Hobie Brown. He was just so pretty.
His fourth secret was that he writes love songs about the punk now. They hadn't seen each other in two years and Miles had had two more growth spurts.
But that changes one night when he sees the brit as one of his concerts.Series

Miles had a condition he was hiding from his friends.
His condition was rare. Rarer than albinism or Harlequinism or even vitiligo.
When he was born the pigment in his skin only developed on one side of his body. He was perfectly split down the middle.
Everyone had told him he was a medical anomaly for having that kind of mutation.
So, when Miguel told him he was an anomaly in the Spider-Verse as well, he snaps."I've been an anomaly my entire life. So, what? If being an anomaly is a bad thing, then I don't wanna be right. Imma do my own thing."

Summary
Miles has... made some mistakes.
Most recently on that list, he skipped a grade, passed a few tests with a few too many extra correct answers, and now that's resulted in Miles attending Visions High School, AKA White Rich Person Stress-ville. Where he is... very lonely, very stressed, and feels very out-of-place. Surprise?
Which isn't helped by this cool dude showing up wearing anarchist pins and flirting and Miles getting... bitten by a radioactive spider? Huh?
And now he's Spider-Man, even more freaked out and stressed, and things are just escalating from here. What just happened?
(Basically, 'Into the Spider-Verse' except it's Hobie who shows up to Earth-1610 instead of Gwen. It changes... literally everything. Mostly canon-compliant through ITSV, but then becomes very different through ATSV and starts speculating for the AU version of BTSV.)
