The trip down their relationship's road was only starting then, with the seal that came with their vows. Now, they were free to explore the depths of each other's minds.

This of course attracts a lot of attention from the underworld, making them the most desirable business partners for many different syndicates. One of them is the noble crime family Campbell, who just earned the rights to exclusively partner with the circus.

Naib, Norton, and Eli had all abandoned him to probably go make out on the dance floor somewhere, while he was left to stand against the wall with his eyes down. He didn't like parties. He had no idea why he'd said yes in the first place, but somewhere in the back of his mind he probably hoped his friends would stick by him. That was why.

Naib wakes up panicked, gasping and grasping for air.
He’s shaking and hyperventilating, the cruel images from his nightmare clinging to his mind, the scenarios feeling more like memories than fragments of dreams.
He feels sick to his stomach, and he rushes to the bathroom to throw up. He feels lethargic, as if he really had been bleeding out and he feels cold shivers rack through his frame at the thought. It all felt too real, in a way that his nightmares normally don’t.
