Summary
Instead of straight up giving Tommy an answer, Määnin touched his forehead with the back of his hand. Then he frowned and turned to look at Freppa again.
"Maybe you should come verify it, Freps, but I think Tommy's feeling warmer than he should."
Tommy did not seem very excited about this and tried to get away, but Määnin placed both hands on his shoulders to keep him still.
"I don't want goddamn Freppa touching me for any reason..!"
he still tried to argue as Freppa also tried his forehead. His hand felt nice and cool against Tommy's warm, damp skin.
"Well, he's not really burning up, at least not yet, but he's probably getting there.."
Freppa mumbled.
"I think you should take him home." -

Waiting for the coffee to be ready left Tommy with too much free time. He tried to kill some of it by taking two mugs out of the cupboard and setting them down on the counter.
"Don't get me wrong, Tomas, it's always good to see you. But.. has something happened?"
His mother then wondered. Tommy almost knocked over one of the mugs, following the question.
"Happened? No, why would anything have happened, everything is fine!"
he was a little too quick to say and laughed nervously. He really was not good at acting normal and unbothered. Even the small talk added something to his anxiety.Or, Tommy sits down with his mother to tell her something big about himself.

Tommy hadn't been to any Valentine's Day gatherings like this since the days of elementary school discos. And he'd even stopped attending those as he'd gotten older. By that time he'd already been more interested in hanging out with Määnin instead of wasting time at some lame disco. He'd never been interested in dancing with any of the girls, anyway, on those rare occasions someone had shown some interest in him and asked him to dance. Yes, the girls had needed to step up and come ask Tommy to dance because he had never been the one to initiate anything. And Tommy had never been able to return the girls' interest, so they usually hadn't looked his way a second time. So just why exactly was he standing there now, already feeling out of place?

"Määnin?"
Freppa sounded happy to hear from him, but also a little confused because Määnin never really called him like this, out of nowhere.
"What made you call? We don't have band practice until tomorrow."
"Have you heard?"
Määnin pushed out the words while holding onto his phone a little tighter so he wouldn't drop it. When Freppa spoke again after a short silence, he was even more baffled.
"Heard..? Have I heard what?"
Määnin groaned. He just didn't get it. Under normal circumstances he was willing to deal with Freppa's occasional cluenessness, but not now. Not when Tommy's life was possibly in danger.
"The car crash! This one guy just told me about it. I saw the photos. And the car."
Määnin was almost able to hear the crickets as Freppa tried to piece all this information together.
"Okay..? So, what does this have to do with us?" -

Tommy took those few minutes to try and get himself back together, at least somehow. He stood up and moved over to the sink, turning on the faucet and splashing some cold water on his face. Looking at his dripping face in the mirror, he sighed once more. He looked like shit. No matter what he'd do to try and hide it, Määnin would notice. That he was sure of. There was one thing Määnin was really good at reading, and that thing was Tommy.
"Fyrbanna.. I'm fucked, no matter what I do.."
Tommy groaned and splashed some water on the mirror to obscure his view of himself. Then he turned off the water and stepped away from the mirror before he'd risk taking another look at himself. He took a few forced breaths before he braced himself, unlocked the door and walked back out. -

"I don't want coffee, I want you."
Everyone who knew Tommy, also knew that he wasn't a morning person. After a gig that had ended past midnight he'd certainly earned to sleep in. Warm morning light was sneaking in through the haphazardly closed blinds. Tommy was still in bed, nice and warm under the covers. He was wearing nothing except his underwear. The bed felt so good and comfortable. Tommy was still pleasantly asleep, for the most part at least. The other side of the bed was occupied by Määnin whose arm was protectively around Tommy's waist. Tommy was sleeping on his side, his back resting comfortably against Määnin's stomach and chest. The latter man stirred lazily and leaned in even closer to Tommy. He touched the back of Tommy's neck with his lips, his breath and mustache tickling the sensitive skin.

The next morning Julia woke up alone. With still closed eyes she tried to search for Benjamin, but couldn't find him. Immediately she missed the warmth of his body next to her.
"Benjamin..?"
she called out in half a whisper, but the room remained quiet. Julia then crawled out of bed and got herself ready for the day in silence, still constantly wondering where Benjamin had gone off to. As she prepared to leave the cabin, her eyes trailed off to the light green post-it note left on the door. She smiled as she immediately recognized Benjamin's lively but neat handwriting.Series

It didn't matter how hard Tommy tried to be cool in front of Määnin, luck just didn't seem to be on his side. He learned this quite quickly when he walked into a wall dividing the kitchen and living room. He rubbed his forehead and heard how Määnin failed to keep himself from laughing.
"You okay there, Tommy?"
He managed to ask.
"Yeah.. I'm fine,"
Tommy mumbled, embarrassed, and almost ran the remaining short distance to hide in the kitchen.

Bertel wondered after Dan-Ole had sat down, settling into one of the armchairs and gesturing for Bertel to do the same.
"Well, I'm not sure.. We'd been talking about it for a little while, considering that option. Then, yesterday we called this person who was selling her cockatiel and I drove to see the bird. I really liked him, so he ended up coming back home with me. I think he likes me, Bertel."
Dan-Ole sounded genuinely happy when he talked about their new family member.
"Will he learn to talk?"

It was a late evening near the middle of September. Days were still bright and warm, but the evenings already had a bit of bite to them. Stars weren't out yet, but the sky was already getting dark. The two men walked away from the parking lot, soon stepping onto the still green grass. To get to their preferred spot they'd need to walk up the hill in front of them.
"You go first, Mään,"
Tommy suggested as they stood at the base of the hill.
"I'll be right behind you."
"I know why you want to take the rear,"
Määnin commented with a sleazy smirk, but started the climb nevertheless. And behind him, following his example, was Tommy whose cheeks were burning almost suspiciously red.Series

Daisy then did what she was so good at and took matters into her own hands. Her fingers wrapped around Fabbo's wrist and turned him to face her. Slowly, in a playfully teasing manner she started trailing her hand down his leather vest. As she did, she also stepped just a little closer, then holding onto his vest with both hands.
"What are you thinking..?"
she asked, her eyes trailing up to meet with his.
"I'm thinking you should go back home,"

"Y..You know what? Määnin is Määnin, and I am me."
Tommy knew that he'd have no way to back out after he'd said what he was going to say, not in this company. But his mouth seemed to decide his fate for him. He stood up straighter and continued:
"But I'm also a man who loves Määnin. And I'll stand behind that statement 100%, regardless of what you're going to say or do to me. Määnin's not even here yet you're insulting him, and you're expecting me to just take it and move on? Well, I.. I can't!"
All this only confirmed what the men seemingly already knew. They glanced at each other and then back at Tommy who, in one of arguably not his wisest moments, approached the taller of the men and attempted to hit him. But Tommy immediately learned that it was almost like punching a brick wall. -

She had not found the bird. Instead she'd had her binoculars trained on something else. This tall and lanky man with long limbs, practical outdoor clothing and a fun strawberry hat. From the moment she had first seen him, he had not looked like he belonged on the ship. The uncomfortable look on his face had been a clear indicator on how he'd felt; he'd rather be anywhere else than at the bar on a cheap cruise ship. Even the man he had been with had almost given up on trying to get him together with someone. But then Eva-Lisa had walked in. Dan-Ole had turned around and seen her. And that was when he had just known. She was the one for him. His heart had never beaten quite like that before. It was like he had finally begun to truly live instead of watching life pass him by.
