The war had consequences. Once, a fully realized Avatar referred to one who had mastered all the elements and could go into the Avatar State. Now, that has changed. No one could master fire when there was no one to teach it, and people feared the abilities of a firebender too much to allow anyone, even the Avatar, to learn too much of it. Now, an Avatar was simply said to be fully realized when their instructors decided they had learnt enough.

Second, the groundshaking admission that Elwing and Eärendil’s sons were not named Elrond and Elros.Or, a love letter to Maglor, Elwing, and Elrond.

“What did they do?” Galadriel hissed, though she offered Amdirdis a minor reprieve. “Was marring our final peace with another burst of kinslaying and robbing us of the Silmarils that ought to be shared by all not enough? Have they turned to torture too?”
“No,” Amdirdis snapped, “that was Morgoth, though feel free to blame Celegorm and Curufin, as I am sure you already do. Now drop your sword, you rage-blinded fool, and take your brother in your arms before he expires in mine.”
