Today, the skies are clear, and V stops the squeaking, sputtering jeep in front of a radio tower that looks more like some forgotten art project of scrap metal and welding than a structure someone would want to climb. Johnny glitches to the other side of the fence and watches as she tugs the door before swiftly kicking it down, and he rewards her with a low whistle and half-hearted clapping.
She still doesn’t respond.
Johnny isn’t sure how much of this he can take.
