Summary
Matthew does not exist. He is entirely fictional, nothing more than a story told by Jonathan, who doesn't even want to be here in the first place.
Matthew clearly does exist – how could he be here otherwise? At the very least he must be partly real, built on a solid foundation with another name but the same face and the same irresistible need to be in this bed at this moment.
(Jonathan must also exist, because who else would have any reason to worry about it?)

in honor of s2 ep 5 coming out tomorrow, here is how I reimagined the ending of episode 3. if yall want more tnm content lmk coz its all im writing these days.
Jonathan knew that look. Desire, want, lust, all danced across Teddy’s expression. There was a certain mischief in his look too, a curiosity to see what ‘Matthew’ would do in this situation. This was a test, it seemed.
Then Roxana was turning, stepping away and drawing the two men together in the process. Jonathan watched this with languid ease, but beneath the surface his heart pounded. It would be easy to blame his physiological response on residual adrenaline from his earlier escapades this night. It would be easy to blame his blown out pupils on the drinks.
