Summary
“The results are in, and… you don’t seem to have gills,” David says. He sounds oddly disappointed by that, though Simon can’t even begin to fathom why.
Or: Simon's thoughts and relationships as he adjusts to his new normal.
A continuation of my other story Thicker Than Water (which you will want to read first for context)

Summary
The day is new, but the dawn falls silent. Never before the Filament incident was there a day wasted, but mourning does strange things to desperate people.
The Convict sat still at his hearing. His hands are clasped, intertwined, bloody. He looked down. Bloody figuratively.. physically clean. Something deep inside him is telling him he did kill those people, but he can’t explain why or how. So when They come in to question him, he has nothing to say.
The Convict is given a number, not a name. He’s told he isn’t deserving of a name. He thinks he should accept that.Bookmarked by DragonMerchent

Summary
Eden has always been Simon's home, until they left him for dead on that station. Sure, they had been harsh sometimes but what was the alternative?
The Consolidation of Iron? The people who wanted to rip out Eden's tree and take their kids?
At least Eden was peaceful, at least Eden didn't lie.
Choking, gagging on his own blood, he realized how much he wished that was true.
---
Eden had long used children for war, they were easy to train, and easier to indoctrinate when they were born and raised in a nursery. Eden was more than fine with the knowledge they were sending kids to die, after all, they all became soil? But what COI had laws to stop trials/convictions for minors? How could Eden get around that?
Simple: If your calendar years are half that of the COI, your 15-year-old becomes 30, and you have “righteous” anger aplenty to point right back at the COI.
If a few kids have to die to make ends meet? Well, It's just bigger than us.
(OR I wanted to write a fic where Simon is actually just a really fucking scared and traumatized child, because Mark you hurt me with that ending so name Simon will get hugs.)

Summary
What if the Quiet Rapture didn’t destroy all of the planets and stars, simply moved them far away. What if it caused time to start working differently for those left behind and those moved? What if the people moved became so advanced that some of them came across AT-5 and found Simon before he died? What if they knew what caused the Quiet Rapture?
Aka: What if TMBD and Iron Lung took place in the same universe? That’s it. That’s the fic.

Summary
“So why…why haven’t you consumed me?”
“You intrigued me,” it cooed directly into his ear.
No.
“Your fierce will to survive…”
No, that wasn’t right.
“To live.”
No, that was wrong…
Something in him was wrong.
“Stop it!” Simon screamed at last, desperate as he pushed himself back into Eden’s tree — but there was nowhere to go.
It was in his head.
In his body.
…In his mind.
His heart felt like it was going to explode as he held it in pain.
He thinks he’s begging. He has to be. He can feel his lips moving, but his ears are muted to the sound of his babbling. All he is — all that he can hear — is the voice of God in his ear.
“I could make you a god,” it continues, either unaware or uncaring of his distress as he watched, horrified, as tendrils of prismatic light drifted from its swirling iris. Nebulas gutted themselves before him and bled into his world so that they could curl around him.
. . .
Simon wakes after what should have been the end.

Summary
Simon escapes, the data saved, but he is not unscaved. He is forever changed, but the only outward showing is the loss of his left arm. Back on the tow ship, he is put in quarantine, tested endlessly to see how he survived so long, if he changed physically. He resents it, reminding Ava every time he sees her that she promised him freedom.
Next door lies Jack, still sick from the radiation but recovering well. The walls are thin, allowing Jack and Simon to pass the time by talking. At first, they clearly resent each other, but eventually begin to grow closer, bonding over their joint trauma and both of their parts in each other’s.
But does the data show the hope Ava thought it did? Will it hold the truth? Will the COI believe what Simon saw down there? Will he ever get his freedom? Or did he die in the Blood Ocean?

Summary
Alpha/Omega Fic, but a non-traditional one.
Malik resisted the urge to smile. Altair was not funny. He was not charming. He was an asshole. It occurred to Malik just then that he didn’t understand why Altair was sitting with him. Altair was being… considerate of all things. Kind. It didn’t make sense. None of this made sense. There was nothing in this for Altair. Nothing to be gained. And Altair did not do anything unless he would gain something from it. Maybe this was some kind of delusional fever dream.
“Why are you helping me?” He could resist his curiosity no longer.
“We’re brothers,” Altair replied, as if Malik was an idiot.

Summary
When the SM-13 reconnects to the station, Ava is forced to consider the possibility that the convict is still alive.
She doesn't know which possibility is worse.
That she accidentally lead to the death of a human being, or that he was still alive and she'd left him down there.

Summary
"Whatever – did to you, however it happened, this could be – answer humanity -as been searching for."
Hot air is barely disturbed by his labored breathing. Sweat ran down over the bridge of his nose, the salt of it stinging his lip.
There was no guarantee of survival. Not even freedom.
"Bring me up." He would do anything, they knew that. Subject himself to testing, hand over whatever chestburster they pulled from him, anything for his freedom. Anything to stop this torture. "I can't- I can't go on much longer. Fucking- " Simon sucked in a sharp breath as the tightening pain in his low abdomen spiked. "- fuck!"
"Finish the job." The speaker's orange light flickered. "Quickly."

Summary
As the infection grows, tendrils reaching further across the ocean and stretching up to the surface like trees, a little branch of veins catches to the backbox that's been bobbing at the surface for three months.
Ava and her team finally find the box, and in retrieving it, cut it free.
Simon hangs on.
Or; Simon is integrated into Jack as a form of payment for his sacrifice.

Summary
A deal in itself, Sportacus knew from the tales, wasn’t that bad, given one carefully drafted out the boundaries before agreeing to whatever the faery offered. Open-ended favours, contracts without clearly defined conditions and clauses, those were what you had to look out for.
Sportacus covered his eyes with an arm and groaned.
His deal had not only been as loose as they could get; he’d practically given the faery a free pass to do as it pleased.
‘I’d give you everything.’
No limits, no negotiations, nothing.
He might as well have done nothing to repair the crystal and wait until he died; he had signed his own death sentence.

Summary
There are many things Robbie can say no one ever does for or with him. And there are many things Robbie can’t say he ever has the joy of experiencing. But what happens when a certain hero takes him by surprise? What happens when the villain gets loved from afar?
Despite the intimidating villainy Robbie shows, there’s a soft, warm side of him that just wants love and respect — even if he goes about it in the wrong way. Maybe all he needs is a little care and patience to give him a true head start. And who’s to say he doesn’t deserve at least a little bit of TLC? Certainly not Number Ten.
