While most his friends vehemently hated Mondays, Murphy didn’t have a problem with them. Mondays meant back to school, with state-funded cafeteria meals to get him through the day without going hungry.
Murphy didn’t have a problem with Mondays. Tuesdays and Thursdays were where his problems lied. Those were the days his over-involved parole officer would be waiting in the parking lot after class to take him to his court mandated group therapy sessions with a handful of other problematic teens from around the city.

“Will said last summer you two had a fight,” Eddie said. “And that you yelled at him for not... having a girlfriend. So- Well, I mean, you can see how that sounds from an outside perspective, right?”
Mike didn’t. Actually he didn’t even know why something he said a year ago was still even relevant, especially because it was during a dumb fight and he always said stupid things during dumb fights.
Mike just stared blankly at Eddie.
“Are you kidding?” Eddie asked in disbelief. “You don’t realise how that sounds?”
“No?” Mike said, shaking his head. “I had a girlfriend and was being a douche that Will didn’t, I don’t even remember what I said during that fight. Why is this so important?”

Mike Wheeler does not care about gay people, not in a bad way or anything, he just doesn't care.
Not until all his friends think he's homophobic at least. Then he works to try and be better to stop misunderstandings like that from happening again. Suddenly all his friends start coming out and Mike learns of a beautiful word: Bisexual.

Summary
Admittedly, there were times when Jonathan considered strangling Mike with a pillow case in his sleep. The amount of times he’d seen him obliviously decimate Will’s feelings while in his own little world was enough to warrant it.
Yet, Jonathan wouldn’t say he disliked the kid. He was just a kid, after all. He had watched as he endured years' worth of trauma, as he lost a best friend and then a girlfriend over the course of a couple weeks, as his best friend in the world got possessed and tormented by Vecna, as he was helpless to fight him and just tried to be supportive. He was just a kid, and he cared about Will as much as Jonathan did. How could he hate him, even if he was obnoxiously unaware of how his relationship with El hurt Will time and time again?
Or, 5 times someone felt like they understood Mike Wheeler + 1 time he felt like he understood himself
