He hadn’t seen Carlo for about a month. He wasn’t attending lessons, training sessions. Romeo wasn’t allowed to enter his father's home. He was hospitalised, he says now. Spent a couple weeks in nauseatingly sterile rooms, barely conscious on pain killers, his arm gone. Not giving signs of life. He is here now; Romeo reminds himself. Changed, tired, holding a hand of a child Romeo never saw in his life. He says it's his brother. One he either forgot to mention or was too painful to acknowledge. Weak blood, had to send the kid away to hopefully gain some strength. Romeo believes that. Maybe he shouldn’t, blinded like so many. Too focused on the flowers to see the thorns. Maybe the scent is buried too deep, maybe the thorns already infect his bones. He doesn’t mind anyway

Summary
Keito finds himself caught between two worlds, one that we're all familiar with, and the world of yokai. In this alternate version of the world he knows, familiar faces bear unfamiliar forms, and He'll be stuck in a game of dimensional tug-of-war between two Eichi's who want nothing more than to never lose their best friend again.
On top of this Keito is forced to take on the role of taking care of and trying to help the yokai around him, especially those that live in this worlds version of his temple he called home not that it's even functional as a temple anymore.
At least maybe he can turn this abandoned ruin into a home. Maybe. If kitsune eichi doesn't make him his unwilling platonic sugar baby first. Or is it more like a pet? Keito's not sure but he's pretty sure the answer is whichever one would irritate him the most.Bookmarked by Dorelai
