Summary
Hawkins, Indiana. Halloween, 1989.
The town is dressed in paper ghosts and plastic pumpkins, pretending it has finally learned how to move on.
Will Byers comes back for the first time in years and finds that Hawkins still remembers him. So does the cold. So do the walls. So does the feeling he hoped he’d left behind.
Mike Wheeler is there too, quieter than he used to be, carrying grief that never learned how to fade. They’re older now. Changed. Caught somewhere between what they survived and what they still haven’t said out loud.
As Halloween night unfolds, old instincts resurface, familiar fears creep closer, and the line between past and present begins to thin. Some doors were never meant to stay closed forever, and some bonds refuse to break, no matter how much time has passed.
A story about memory, grief, devotion, and the strange things that endure.
Because in Hawkins, the veil is always thinnest on Halloween.

Summary
SHIVERS - Somewhere in Central Jamrock, a teacher opens the door to a frail-looking woman and urges her to take the last empty seat in the room. Beside her sits her own son, barely big enough to fully set his feet on the floor, with his head hung low. His cheek is swollen but his knuckles are scraped and bleeding. He only followed his father's orders to never let anyone talk badly about the people he loves. He doesn't know that the means to an end made it right or wrong.
A few blocks away, a disgraced RCM officer is fighting the wave of nausea and panic creeping up his esophagus. He looks back at two of his coworkers, who he still does not recognize. Anxiety makes his skin crawl, and his mind is trying to tell him that the longer he stays in here, the less time he has left. For what, he does not know. But all that comes to a standstill when the officer in front of him reads his charge aloud.
JEAN VICQUEMARE - “Lieutenant-Double Yefreitor Harrier Du Bois, you are under arrest for the suspected murder and disappearance of Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi.”
