A chocking sound distracted Stede for a moment. Apparently Lucius had found some trouble while eating his noodles and Pete was hitting him firmly on the back while stifling a laugh for some reason.

Stede’s lip twitches as he leans down. “Careful, Izzy. It’s starting to sound like you might actually like me.”
“Piss off.” Izzy mutters as Stede kisses him, and kisses him, tongue trailing idly along the edge of Izzy’s lip, the sharp catch of his canine teeth. There’s a heat there, simmering beneath the surface, but neither of them lean into it. Stede doesn’t rush Izzy, doesn’t make him feel like a quick fuck, and Izzy hopes he doesn’t make Stede feel small.
Maybe this is healing the both of them, one slide of skin on skin at a time. Maybe, things really do get better.
