He brought his hand to the side of Spamton's face. He was tiny in his hold — his thumb ran from his forehead to his chin and his fingers easily wrapped around the back of his skull. "Please? Whatever you're afraid of—o-or you're worrying about, we can face it together! That's...that's what this means, right?"
“…yeah," he said quietly. "Yeah, it is, Ant." He looked to the side, froze once more, like he was waiting for something again. Whatever he was waiting for didn't seem to come, because Tenna felt the moment those tense strings were cut.
The stiff line of his shoulders softened, that wobbly smile on his mouth returned, and he leaned into Tenna's hand, his own coming to rest near Tenna's thumb knuckle.
"I will," he said after a beat. "As soon as the [[tell the papers!]] are signed, I will. I...I promise."

The pipeline from Big Shot to dumpster dweller wasn’t a straight path; no, Spamton spent years fighting to keep himself afloat. After five years of struggle, all he had to show for it was a shitty, dead-end job at a diner, a shitty garbage can, and a shitty body he could hardly recognize.
When he finds himself face-to-face with the very man who had left him for dead, both Spamton and Tenna find years of anger and resentment bubble to the surface. With the unexpected return of the laptop into the Dreemurr household, Spamton is left to work through repressed emotions, maintaining his job so he can pull himself out of the dump, and grappling with the sudden onset of prophetic dreams.
An AU in which Tenna and Spamton reunite five years after their split.

“So that’s your goal, huh? You just want to be on TV?” Despite his words, Tenna didn’t look pissed, if anything he seemed a bit impressed. The sniffling mess seemed to disappear as soon as he came, and back was the fanged grin he’d seen from backstage.
Spamton shrugged and threw an arm around the CRT’s shoulder while it was still in range. All the better to make the sale when the sucker thought they were in cahoots. “Who wouldn’t want to be on [[the big screen]]? But I guarantee, if your numbers don’t double by the end of the quarter I'll work for you [[free of charge]] for the rest of my days. Final offer.”
“Doubled? By the end of the quarter?” Spamton hoped the CRT couldn’t feel his palm break out in a nervous sweat. Maybe he’d gotten a bit overzealous, that happened sometimes when he got wrapped up in the sale, but it was doable. Probably. “You drive a hard bargain, but—”
“[[A deal’s a deal!]]?”

“I sell cars,” Spamton had replied, back when Tenna was addressing him. “If you talk [Big] with nothing to back it up, people think you’re a hack.”
“Well,” Tenna said, “are you?”
Spamton sprayed the compressed air into his smug face.
That would have been preferable to drowning in insulation foam and getting licked clean by a clown (“HANDS OFF THE [[Officil Merchandise]]!!”). Jevil’s nuisance was missed as soon it was over though, because then all he had was the realization that that was his last chance. To do what, he isn’t sure. To demand an apology. To explain why he ran away. To scream at him. To break that stupid screen himself, just to get it over with, and crawl inside there never to emerge. Then at least they’d be together.

An unseen, silent, approximately 4 foot tall individual takes it upon himself to fix the fallen Lord of the Screens. To raise a middle finger to the mysterious phone-calling, prophecy-defining benefactor who screwed him over and made him a living puppet, of course. No other reason.
