It’s not a secret that Blake’s read too many romance novels.
You’ll give yourself brain rot, Weiss used to say, wrinkling her nose in distaste if she walked into the dorm to find Blake sprawled out reading in a sunbeam. I’m immune, Blake would counter with a lazy shrug, not missing a beat.
It’s possible she overestimated herself. But it’s not—it’s not brain rot to have robust expectations, or a high standard or two. Is it really so bad, to want to give Yang a first time that’s novel-worthy? Privacy and an actual mattress feels like the least they should aim for.
Even now, past the end of the world.

“Guys we can do it one more time.” The drummer encouraged her bandmates.
“Well if you stayed on beat Ruby maybe we could.” The singer looked behind her and scowled.
“Oh, you’re one to talk, how many times are you gonna practice before you hit that high note” the guitarist starts and defends her younger sister.
“Why don’t you all just shut the f-“
“One two three four!” The bassist with long black hair and shiny golden eyes was interrupted by the younger more optimistic drummer with her short black and red hair whipping over her face as she bangs her head. All three other girls joined in playing on beat but not without dirty looks shooting around.

Blake’s skin prickled with excitement, her novel left her feeling frisky.
A lightbulb went off in her head. She tucked a stray curl behind Yang’s ear, and cupped her face sweetly, gold staring into amethyst. Her eyes lingered on Yang's lips before pressing greedily against them. They soon ignited themselves into a fiery kiss as their tongues danced. Yang felt Blake slide up her thigh, legs wrapping around her waist. Yang squeezed Blake’s ass, a purr spilling from her lips. Yang squeezed harder as Blake raked her nails over Yang’s forearm and shoulders, before settling on the knot behind Yang’s orange bandanna.
They pulled apart, breaths coming in ragged gasps. Their bodies trembled with a burning need for each other. Blake gazed into Yang's eyes, feeling a mixture of exhilaration and desire.
"Your bandanna," Blake answers.
