Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?

Asano Gakushu didn’t know what to expect when he jumped off the bridge. He thought it would all just end. The pain. The sinking feeling of uselessness.
The abuse.
He did not expect to come face to face with the ghost of the same boy who jumped off this very bridge a decade ago.“Hey, Asano Jr. C‘mon, take a seat. I’ve been waiting for you. Let’s have a chat before I send you back.” A bright faced Ikeda chirps.
There’s a pause. He stares. His knees are shaky.
“Wait. Send me back?” He feels a pang of fear run through him, “No. Please. Don’t—I can’t go back there—“
“One year ago. That’s when it all started going downhill, for you, didn’t it? I’m sending you back one year. And maybe you can save more lives than just yours.”
Then another voice speaks up, echoing Gakushu’s thoughts, “Ikeda, I’m perfectly fine being dead. I’ve told you there’s no need—“
Gakushu turns to see a yellow octopus. The Yellow Octopus. He sinks to his knees.
He thought his life was a mess, who knew death was worse?
—Gakushu gets a chance to redo the last year of his life. With one simple decision, it leads him on a completely different path. And just maybe, that’s not entirely a bad thing.

Khun was sacrificed. To the dragon no less. But Rak would rather have bananas. And everyone he had "rescued" had formed a village hidden in the mountain he called home. Khun grudgingly settled in and maybe found a sort of boyfriend. Only for seven days. Yes, there was an expiration date. Then, someone wanted the dragon's hoard. And maybe its head. Or was it his soul? So yeah, they had an adventure.
"...Does Bam know how pathetic you are?”"And you? Do you know what you did wrong?" Rachel's whisper rang through the crumbling walls as she glared at Khun like he was the one who had doomed them all. "You did a terrible, terrible thing. You taught the monster how to love."

There were numerous variations on how it happened. Some say the beast was a beautiful man, and the God of Death was kind.
The story wasn’t far from the truth.
Aguero wakes up in a cave without his memories except his name.
A hand reached out from a long-haired man who smiled at him, and the first word Aguero associated with him was ‘warm.’
“I’m Bam, nice to meet you, Aguero.”

Summary
Bam’s party gets into an altercation with a particular warlord on the 105th floor. Khun is captured and forced to join the ranks of the man's many spouses to humiliate him and infuriate Bam.
It works, except that said warlord is about to learn just how dangerous it is to allow someone like Khun, who literally grew up with this sort of intrigue, into a position where he can put his considerable skill in plotting and backstabbing to use.
