“Grow up,” Siren said, his voice slick as it always had been, cold.
Seven years later, Wilbur was staring at Tommy in disbelief, his hand clutched to his stomach as he felt Tommy’s pain. His legs gave out from under him, onto the same floor Tommy had silently almost-died on, and cried out in desperation. “Tommy! Tell me it didn’t hurt this much for you!”
Tommy sighed sadly, his lungs tight, “I tried to tell you. You told me to grow up.”
And Wilbur remembered.-
Or, Tommy and Wilbur get their powers swapped. And the SBI discovers just how painful Tommy’s powers really are.

She couldn’t let her papa die. There was so much she hadn’t said, so many things she still needed to repay. He was a part of her heart, constant and beating.

“I think we are okay,” she replied, for her siblings before telling the truth, “it hurts. I felt like a turtle.”
Or, Tallulah has been exhausted living on Purgatory, surviving without her brother and her parents. She just wants to go home. Phil, tortured by grief and insanity, just wants his children back.

Caleb was laying, limp like a doll, on Beau’s back. Molly was reluctantly impressed that she’d seemingly carried him all the way back here. Overshadowing that, however, was the concern for their wizard. Caleb looked like he’d narrowly escaped a house-fire. His face was covered in soot and dried tear tracks ran down his ash-stained cheeks. He was pale as a ghost and even in unconsciousness, he seemed to tremble faintly. Molly couldn’t tell if that was from exhaustion, terror or an overuse of magic, though. Maybe even all three.
Or: After the fight with the Volstrucker, everyone is exhausted. Molly helps in any way they can.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
