When Battat initially began taking on the role of ‘Mike’, he had never expected himself to become so deeply affiliated with Tenna. He knew the job must be much to take on, but somehow he’s turned into Tenna’s other half, in a way. He did far more than just help out with stagelights and scripts. He was Tenna’s emotional support, his physical support, his right hand, his left hand, his first and last aid. As thankful as he was for being treated with such kindness from his boss, he couldn’t help the way his stomach twisted and tied into knots, knowing that one day this long-winded charade would catch up to him. After all, these affections were directed towards "Mike", not "Battat".

Adachi likes eating dinner by himself.
He’s spent most of his life doing so, so it’d be a bit depressing if he didn’t. It’s become routine for him after work to stop by Junes, grab an overpriced, shitty microwave meal, and retreat to his apartment to eat in solitude. He doesn’t mind it; eating with or without company makes no difference to him. Really, he thinks it’s better that he spends his nights alone. If he didn’t, it’d just be more time spent keeping up the facade of being a bumbling rookie, more time spent lying to every person he makes contact with.
However, like most things in his life as of late, normalcy has took an abrupt turn.

The worst part is that Ryuji is being, objectively, pretty annoying. He should be annoyed. He shouldn’t be so fond that he feels each heavy beat of his heart thumping in his chest, just barely suppressing the heat threatening to crawl its way up to his cheeks. But Ryuji’s smile is wide and infectious, and his eyes are light with an easy happiness, and Akira is melting beneath his gaze.

Akira smiles, like he's found a small, shiny treasure while looting a Palace. It's a little concerning the way it seems kind of relieved but kind of knowing at the same time. Before he can think about it much, Ryuji's mind snaps instantly to Akira moving closer towards him, making acted, professional movements to bring them together. His fingers trace up his neck to his jawbone, and they hold him there like he's a small and delicate fish he's caught. "May I?"
Akira acts like he has everything held together by sturdy support beams. Ryuji knows that really, it's constantly thinning pieces of string.

The way he asked it was both strained yet overexcited, but Akira didn't question how a suggestion attempted to be boisterous came out so cracked-- perhaps it was nervousness, from doing something so bold. Instead he wondered, Is this really what you want? Because it wasn't what Akira wanted, what Akira wanted was Ryuji, and the truth behind the fact that he couldn't excite him like the curvy tourists and city locals, merely eye candy masterpieces on approach, made his heart plummet; it was honestly pathetic.
Something fueled by the frustration of it made a switch in him flick. It was common for anyone to get that random boost of confidence at times, where it seemed the impossible could become the possible through arrogance and blind trust in oneself's charm; Akira was no different, simply a skilled bisexual among men.
Today I'm going to change that.
