The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
For Freminet, taking the brunt of what he thought was an acid attack aimed towards Spina di Rosula's boss was nothing more than a split second decision. He wouldn't call himself a hero by any stretch of the imagination, and he wouldn't say he led his life with noble and virtuous intentions either...
...but when the urge to help someone comes to him, he ponders little over it. That's just what a good person would do, and Freminet desperately wants to be a good.
(Still, maybe he should have paid more attention to just what was being splashed.)

Freminet dissolves into water. That really should have been the end of it, but it seems like the ocean wasn't keen on letting him go yet.

Summary
Fukase has the genetic composition of the archetypal class clown, meaning his go-to solution for any uncomfortable situation is diversion. While Rin’s silence grows all the louder, Fukase runs his mouth to no end. Every time he pauses and looks to her for a reaction, she pretends she’s listened, hums noncommittally, and he gets straight back to it.
You have to admire his gumption, however misguided it is.
Rin chews her nails.
The bus stops right in from of the hospital, and the two of them tumble out of the automatic doors. Fukase takes the lead, which in addition to being something Rin doesn’t hate, is something she’s actively grateful for. He doesn’t even seem irritated that she’s clipping the back of his clunky shoes in the lobby, just casts a glance over his shoulder and raises a brow at her.
”You good?”
He always asks that.
”Yep.”
She always lies.

Summary
Fukase knows he’s a hypocrite for being so infatuated with this boy that he doesn’t care if Len comes with a pre-assembled third wheel. He can try to convince himself that he’ll eventually figure out how to remove this unwanted feature, but something tells him that Rin Kagamine won’t be disposed of so easily.
As he’s reflecting on this one night, he comes up with a fitting allegory for the twins that he’s actually quite proud of.
Len is the sun. He’s warm and nurturing and brilliant in his own right. His existence doesn’t need to be justified to anyone.
Rin is the moon. She only shines when Len is facing her, but even then it’s obvious that her surface is nothing but cold and inhabitable.
