Summary
“Charles,” Edwin said. Then, louder, when Charles only nodded in response, “Charles! I’m sorry. I—”
“Edwin, don’t. Don’t you dare—”
“I sincerely wish we could have been friends for longer,” he said.
Charles looked crushed before he’d even finished speaking. He tried to get a better hold on Edwin’s suit jacket, but he had no footing, dangling in the middle of the train as he was.
Edwin let go.
Or: When David the Demon opens a portal on the train in an attempt to escape being exorcised from Crystal, Edwin gets inadvertently dragged back to Hell, leaving Charles and Crystal behind.

Summary
“Charles,” Edwin says softly, as they both stare at the man who has just entered the room. “This is-“
“Me,” Charles says, but it comes out sounding like a question, and he realises that he’d meant it as one. He needs confirmation, needs to be sure. He hasn’t seen his own face in decades. “This bloke looks like me, right? Only older. Edwin, I think he is me."
Edwin frowns at him. “But you died.” He says it kindly, like he thinks Charles might have forgotten.
Or: Charles and Edwin accidentally land in an alternate reality that is remarkably similar to their own, with one notable exception: in this reality, Charles never died.

Summary
When a witch’s spell sends Edwin back in time to 1973, he has to learn the hard way that you cannot change the past.
You can, however, fill it with love.
*
He finds Charles in the lounge, strapped into a bouncing chair whilst his mother naps on the sofa. Charles is wide awake, burbling happily as he sucks on a toy, a mop of fine curls already sprouting from his head. His eyes dart around the room and when they land on Edwin, they linger, and he pulls the toy from his mouth and smiles.
Edwin has never been fond of babies, but Charles is the exception to the rule. The smile on his face is not nearly as charming as the one that has Edwin weak at the knees, but it is adorable in a different way entirely.
Charles babbles a stream of nonsense and then throws his toy towards Edwin. It lands on the floor between them and Charles’s face crumples when he realises that it is no longer in reach. Edwin does not think. He steps forward and picks up the toy, crouching down before Charles to press it into his tiny hand.
He does not take it. Instead, his hands reach up to pat at Edwin’s face.

Summary
It all starts with another one of Crystal's dreadful jokes.
"Not that I'd expect some repressed Victorian virgin to understand—"
"I am not," Edwin cuts in before he can think it through.
"Victorian? Yeah, I know," Crystal says. "I just don't care."
"A virgin," he clarifies. She stares.
----
Or Edwin's only experiences with sexual intimacy are from Hell. In this mostly soft glimpse into recovery from sexual assault, Crystal and Charles challenge Edwin's concepts of whether he really knows what physical intimacy is supposed to feel like and send him on a path toward exploring the difference between consensual and non-consensual touch.

Summary
Tim shrugs. “I know his limits. Sometimes he just needs a little push in the right direction.”
“A push,” Damian echoes incredulously. “Jason Todd needs a push. The Red Hood. The same one who tried to kill you a couple years ago.”
“You’ve also tried to kill me, to be fair.”
“To be fair, it would not be wise for you to push me, either.”
-
After an injury benches Tim for a few months, he and Damian are forced to cohabitate until Tim recovers. Along the way Damian learns that there’s a lot he doesn’t understand about Tim Drake, starting with his total lack of self-preservation.
