Summary
If this had been one of those books, this would be a very dramatic way to go. There would definitely be an emotional speech, some tastefully coughed up blood (which was horribly inaccurate, but they seemed to love any excuse to have someone cough up blood), and maybe a really unearned last minute rescue.
As it was, around the throbbing pain and increasingly blurred vision, I was mostly annoyed.
What a stupid way to die..
or that time an Institute Courser managed to disable its own failsafes and realized it had the capability to Simply Leave

I thought of ARTs wormhole transit times rapidly decreasing due to its remnant exposure. I didn’t feel more powerful, did I? Could I do something like that? What would the equivalent be for sentient killware?

2.0 lives and is kind of a teenage badass. It has inherited all the ruthless killing power of both its parents and also all of their angst and awkwardness (Its figuring it out, okay?) The corporate rim really doesn't stand a chance.

Summary
Gotham is definitely not the usual place people decide to go for a Vacation. Danny's not really planning on staying long, but after a while being on the road every day kinda gets old. The city has a large population, ectoplasm, and enough bullshit going on the GIW probably won't think to start up a branch for a while at least.
It's not like he can go home, anyway.
So he's just gonna lay low, get his feet underneath him, and then figure out what to do from there.
Grundy however didn't wait for him to explain any of that. Undead kid needs to lay low? Well, Grundy's got the perfect place for that! Can't get much lower than the sewers in Gotham, right?

Summary
When ART can't explain why it's afraid of meeting with a scientist from the university's Machine Intelligence department, Murderbot insists on going along. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the scientist was hoping for. The results are traumatic, and Murderbot starts to doubt 1) that ART loves it, and 2) that it can trust anyone.
Fortunately ART's crew and Murderbot's Preservation friends are there to help. And the baby MIs are really adorable.
