That is, until Eggman and a certain blue idiot decide to crash the party.
Sonic 06 rewritten as it could have been: without the gaping plot holes, continuity errors, or Elise kissing a very dead hedgehog.

Summary
Sonic narrowly manages to restore his multiverse back to normal after his and Mega Man's worlds collided. Returned to his home and armed with a fierce determination, Sonic vows to get the Freedom Fighters back together and end the war with Eggman once and for all.
A return to the original, pre-super genesis wave continuity with an emphasis on concluding unfinished plot threads and character arcs.

Knuckles and the Chaotix set out to rescue the echidnas of Albion, Saffron, and Julie-Su.
Hope Kintobor is asked by Sally Acorn to take part in a secret project.
After she is asked out on a date, Nicole rushes to Sally for advice on what to do. (Short story.)
