Summary
Joker can feel himself wilting under the buzzing light and the white, white walls, dulled by the little yellow pill that arrives each morning like clockwork. The wrongness of it itches under his skin and on some days he can barely stand it, screaming and screaming and clawing at his skull because he just wants the dullness out of his head.
On other days he taunts the guards, taunts anyone who will come near him, pushing and pushing because he knows that he can get them to snap. They are instructed not to talk to him, to keep interaction to a minimum; to look through him as though he is as thin and insubstantial as paper, but he is good at getting into people’s heads and they are oh so easy to break. He laughs triumphantly as they force open the cell door, laughs harder as the first hits come and the breath is squeezed from his lungs, and afterwards, crumpled in a heap of limbs on the floor, he grins through bloodied teeth.
On other days, the worst days, he wakes up, takes his sugar pill and feels nothing at all.

Holy shit this is so good. I really enjoy where he mentions that maybe he enjoys the cleanup more than the actual moment. As someone who’s struggled with self harm for a long time this is particularly poignant. I always find it so much more calming wiping my blood over my hands than cutting in the first place. All of this actually feels a lot like self harm does, just on a larger scale and directed outwards, rather than in. I feel like by souls been cleaned a bit when I pay for my actions in blood, and I suspect that’s what Dexter does. He just pays in other peoples. And the bit about faith being something you repeat over and over gain despite knowing it won’t save you?!?!????? Yeah. 10/10, no notes, amazing writing. This also read as an amazing study where I can tell the author has put though into it, every sentence is precise and it is so valuable for that. Love. This. (Also there’s no Dexter fics anymore)

Harry was supposed to pick- move on and be with his parents, or go back to finish the battle with Voldemort. But even Dumbledore doesn't know everything, and Harry finds that there are actually a lot more options than those two.
Harry wants more than what he got. He wants a home. He wants a family. He wants a chance to be happy. He isn't sure he deserves all that, but he's going to try anyway. If only to spite Dumbledore and Voldemort's plans both.

Summary
