He looked down again. The girl didn’t move; her lilac hair trailed over his armor, now streaked with ash.
He spoke flatly. “She’s coming with us.”
Mydeimos descended the temple steps, the sky behind him turning black with smoke, but he didn’t glance back.
The city had fallen, and whatever this woman was – oracle, priestess, symbol – he would decide what became of her.
She would live. If only to witness what her peace had cost.
