Summary
Violet Sorrengail was born in chains.
The daughter of the Great Betrayer, she has spent her life marked by the Tyrrish punishment — twenty cuts for twenty years — and kept under the watchful cruelty of a foster family loyal to the crown. When her final cut is made, she is sent to Basgiath War College to serve the very kingdom that destroyed her family.
But Violet knows the truth doesn’t match the history books. Her father died insisting the wards protecting Navarre were failing, that monsters from The Barrens would return. For that, he was executed. For that, she has bled.
Xaden Riorson — son of the kingdom’s most celebrated general — has been taught all his life that Violet’s bloodline is poison. He should hate her. He should want her gone. And yet… every time she fights, every time she survives, his loyalty wavers.
As dragons choose their riders, as Venin stir beyond the borders, and as Violet unearths dangerous truths hidden in her father’s last gift, enemies become uneasy allies, and uneasy allies become something far more dangerous.
Because when the wards fall, it won’t matter who was traitor or hero. It will matter who’s still alive.

Summary
Violet Sorrengail has a perfect life as a lawyer: a calm 9–5, a boutique firm she loves, and absolutely zero interest in Big Law chaos.
Unfortunately, Big Law is very interested in her.
Temporarily seconded to Basgiath LLP to help save a massive M&A deal, Violet finds herself thrown into late nights, adrenaline-junkie lawyers, and a data room full of secrets. Worse, she’s stuck working with Xaden Riorson, an infuriatingly competent M&A associate who thinks closing the deal matters more than asking how it should be closed.
Somewhere between midnight diligence calls, shared takeout, and a deal that refuses to behave, Violet realizes two things:
1. Big Law is nothing like her 9–5.
2. Neither is Xaden.
All set in the least romantic setting to fall in love: the M&A data room.

Summary
Violet Sorrengail is a forensic anthropologist good with only one thing: dead people. Their bones speak a language only she can hear, but the living aren't quite so easy to understand - particularly one FBI Agent Xaden Riorson, who does everything possible to get under her skin. When an unexpected murder victim washes up in DC, the ensuing investigation brings them closer together despite her every effort to stay away, and she's forced to decide if the careful distance she keeps around her heart is really worth it.

What happens when Xaden left, and Violet experiences something may people would never want to experience.
TW: miscarriage and the emotional effects of the aftermath Please do not read if this is triggering to you. Your mental health is very important to me
Prompt; Violet was pregnant when Xaden left but didn't realize. The stress and magical strain of the war and having to bring him back causes her to miscarry, but she doesn't tell him. Once he's back, Xaden doesn't understand why Tairn and Andarna hate him THIS much, or why Violet cries every time her monthly courses come. And then he finds out.
