Summary
Trauma has shaped the lives of both Officer Sam Carter and Sergeant Jack O’Neill. They had their separate lives, both at the same police department, but never meeting. But when Jack transfers to her precinct, their lives are thrust together. It was a love that shouldn’t happen, one that neither saw happening. Oh and one more thing, Sam is a mother. That fact alone floors Jack, making him long for the times he was a father. But this little blonde human and her lovely and intelligent mother are finding a way into his heart, and he into theirs. But the trauma that brought them together threatens to pull them apart, both fighting for their lives and that of the baby.

Jack gets drunk and Sam has to pick him up leaving Addy at home. Jonas kidnaps Addy and locks her in car rolling into a lake on a golf course. Jack and Sam get together after and the next morning she panics saying that it was a mistake. Jonas breaks in her house and beats up Sam. Jack intervenes and Jonas is killed. Sam gets a new role and they sort out everything. Happy ending with epilogue.
