Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock.
Dream listens to his clock as he looks around the prison walls with a familiar ache of boredom. The memories used to come back to him as dreams, fuzzy vivid imagery that he couldn’t understand at first.
Sometimes he had good dreams. He would dream of a different life, where he had a family, where he was beloved by everyone who knew him.
Sometimes it turned into a nightmare, where he lived in a rotten society, where criminals and the like roam free into the streets like the rats they were. Where he had a notebook of death.
Sometimes a small part of him that was still Light hates him.
Dream sighs, he might as well reflect on everything. It’s not like he has anything better to do.
(AU in which Light Yagami gets reincarnated as Dream. Set before and during Tommy’s visit to Dream in prison.)
