Summary
Murderbot crash-lands on a cold, forbidding planet during a relentless blizzard. Its Corporation Rim clients either die in the crash or freeze to death (fuck those assholes) so Murderbot goes into standby mode to wait out the storm.
There's a timeslip involved, because several thousand years later, its body is discovered under the ice by a team of Antarctic explorers, who decide to thaw it out. What could possibly go wrong?
The Thing, but with Murderbot as the alien.
