Her gift ceremony failed, but when time stood still she was the only one to notice.
Mirabel called them time hiccups, because that's what it felt like when they started or ended.
It didn't matter if she ran a mile, when the hiccups ended Mirabel would find herself exactly where she was before it started.
Mirabel tried to tell, but her big sister accused her of making stories so she didn't try again.
She was sad, time hiccups were scary and the other kids were mean to her.
Then she encountered him.
A very thin horse only visible during the time hiccups, she named him Oscar and he was her best friend.
She made a picture of him once and Mom was scared, but she didn't know why.
Oscar was nice. The man always smiling in the forest wasn't.

After being disowned from her family and losing her sight Mirabel thought things couldn't possibly get worse, even letting that idiot of Gilderoy Lockhart getting all the merits wasn't that bad.
Their books were selling fine and there was absolutely no need to apply for the Defense against Dark Arts post at Hogwarts, but he did it anyway and it was just her luck that he got it.
Now not only she had to go back to a place she loathed, but she knew her former sister also worked here.
There was no other choice they will all notice Gilderoy doesn't know shit if Mirabel isn't here to cover his ass.
Lockhart knows it as well, that asshole, and to think she's the Slytherin between the two.

Mirabel had tried to care for her younger sister Rapunzel to the best of her ability even if she couldn't see more then a faint blur.
She didn't want to go outside like Rapunzel and honestly she found the concept terrifying, but when a thief gets in their tower Mirabel will have no choice but to be brave and go outside for the first time in her life to save her little sister.-
Me and GothElke here were talking about a TangledxEncanto crossover and decided to have some fun.
We will each write our own fic while keeping a few key points the same and see how different they get.

The sorting hat didn't know where to put her, young naive Mirabel had the simple thought that she liked green.
A silly thought like that ended up being her ruin as nobody liked a Slytherin and most of the Slytherins themselves didn't trust her for being from a family of Gryffondors.
Her own family was wary of her, Abuela looked at her with disgust.
Her friendship with Bellatrix Black didn't help the matters and so by the time she graduated everyone was convinced she was going to join the Dead Eaters.
This was why Pepa and Felix had only come to pick up Camilo and left Mirabel by herself, despite the grim times they lived in.
