Rain was a promise in the air long before the first drop fell. The sky hung low and bruised over Tokyo, pressing a damp, electric silence against the floor-to-ceiling windows of Gojo Satoru’s penthouse. He lived in a space that was less a home and more a curated void—clean lines, minimalist furniture of pale wood and white fabric, a fortress of controlled emptiness high above a city that buzled with a life he was perpetually separate from. Here, there were no souvenirs from missions, no gifts from students, no traces of the man behind the title. It was a shell, immaculate and echoing.

Summary
The night is a gentle thing. The stars are bright and everyone is quiet and the whole world softens and slows down. Nobody uses the east wing library, a place Ritsu had discovered on another sleepless night, eyes wide and stress slowly unfurling in his gut.
Ritsu and Shou are two college students who happen to collide at the library one night, finding interest in each others eccentricities despite not knowing each other beyond the walls of the library.
Shou continues letting his curiosity get the better of him, the need to know more slowly burning in his chest.
Ritsu continues leashing his curiosity, speaking to Shou only on occasion, in short bursts of half-conversation. He doesn't like the discomfort of having to leave himself to reach another.
They are simply planets, circling the orbit of their curiosity and interest, going in circles around the east wing library.
(or: Perhaps they were fated to meet. Perhaps they've had too much caffeine. Whatever it is, they grow closer.)
