Mira does a better job at stifling her tears than Zoey, but she still feels a few warm drops run down her cheeks.
The hopes and dreams of being an idol at Sunlight Entertainment—hell, of being anything—are gone with a handwave from some guy in a suit and a paper that says “Thanks for auditioning”.
Before she can storm out as quickly as possible to save what little face she has left, Mira turns on her heel and freezes at the sight of Celine, the CEO of Sunlight Entertainment, watching her. That odd woman with the purple braid and mask floats behind her, eyes gleaming.
“Mira. Zoey.” Celine steps towards them. “Before you leave, I have an offer I’d like you to consider.”
Or: When Mira and Zoey, both running from difficult pasts, audition to become idols at Sunlight Entertainment (famous for its mysterious headliner idol Hunter) and fail, all hopes of meeting and training under Hunter go out the window until Celine makes them a different, surprise offer: train under Celine’s unknown ward Rumi instead.

And a part of her understood. Even more than the somewhat overwhelming desire lancing through her was the even more overwhelming and plaintive need to have some level of control over her own body.
Mark it with her own rebellions rather than marked by the mistake of her birth.
Or, Rumi discovers Mira has nip piercings and has a Crisis about it

Drinking wasn't all that common a thing for any of them. Zoey had bad memories, Rumi couldn't stand the taste without a lot of added flavor, and both her and Mira hated losing control like that. But sometimes they indulged.

“We’re not going to leave your side!” The tears in Zoey’s eyes started to trail down her cheeks. She pressed her hand with a new towel up against her friend’s thigh first. “We’re right here! Just-” She cut herself off as she went to place her hand on Rumi’s arm. She froze with her facial expressions falling.
Tears started to cascade down Rumi’s face as she watched Zoey’s eyes widen, her pupils dilate and her whole body pull back just slightly.
The rapper’s gaze had fallen onto her exposed demon patterns.
Rumi let out a long trembling breath followed by a harsh whine.
She had to cover them up.

Jinu's soul has long since lost its humanity. There is no kindness nor empathy that remains. Instead, there is hatred fueled by shame that he directs towards this generation of Hunters. Mira twists back around to look ahead of herself, tapping her fingers against the wheel as she forces back another smile. “No. Anyway, if you need a date, I’ll do it. I can take you back down, though,” she adds, turning back to look at Zoey over her shoulder.
Zoey actually gapes at her, shaking her head rapidly. “Uh, no, absolutely not. I’m already in the car. I’m, like, painfully alone this Christmas. I can also be your date! The more the merrier, right? And what better time to be merry? It’s literally the season for it.”
Rumi looks genuinely horrified. “No! No. No, it’s fine. Please just drive back to the diner, I’m—”
“Are we all dating?” Mira asks. “Or is she, like, just dating both of us separately?”
Zoey clicks her tongue. She almost sounds casual when she says, “No, we’re totally all dating.”
“Cool,” Mira says, nodding. “Can you put in the address?”
Rumi stares at her, eyes somehow getting bigger. She looks so terribly miserable, as if she would rather be anywhere else right now, which is funnier to Mira than she thinks it probably should be. “You can’t be serious.”

Or that this demon seems to be channeling the honmoon into her medical care. Rumi just wants to keep doing her wildly traumatizing job why do these two women think she wants to join their K-pop band?
