Bilbo Baggins arrived home late one afternoon in the middle of the week and the entire west Farthing is still talking about it.
Poor Mister Baggins. He was doomed to be a nine-days wonder no matter what and is it any wonder after a year-long adventure? Even the Tooks haven’t the influence to hush that up, but Mad Baggins seems to have managed to silence every tongue in the Shire on that subject which would be awe-inspiring ...if not for the way he decided to go about it.

Summary
Seven years after Thorin had to let Bilbo go in order to seek a marriage according to his own status, troubling words reach Erebor in late autumn: With winter falling upon the north early, orcs come flooding out of the Misty Mountains and upon the doorstep of Rivendell. The Shire is beset, the Last Homely House besieged, and it takes a hobbit staying among the elves for his winter-fogged mind to heal to talk dwarves and elves into helping each other out. Aid comes from Erebor and the Greenwood, marching through the hell of winter, and what has started as an escort for Tauriel, summoned by Elrond through Thranduil from her husband's side, becomes a quest to save Rivendell itself. Bilbo has never been good with waiting, and while Thorin has long since taught his Privy Council not to breathe another word of potential brides to him, the choice of reconciliation sits with winter-tired, frost-sore, battle-weary Bilbo Baggins in ailing Rivendell.

Summary
The trio's search for the Horcruxes was abandoned when Griphook absconded with the Sword of Gryffindor, leaving the three – traumatised and disheartened – to return to join the rest of the Order in the ongoing brutal war against Voldemort. Several months later a maimed, disillusioned, and broken Draco surrenders himself to the Order after his failures earn him Voldemort's displeasure, and Hermione finds herself the warder of the prisoner in the cellar.
The Risk'verse Quartet is an epic, coming-of-age wartime series that follows Hermione, Draco, and the Order of the Phoenix throughout an extended war, and then onward into the aftermath. It's a realism-focused character and relationship study, with dual POV, angst and hurt/comfort, slow emotional burn w/ glacial physical burn, bickering & banter, a secret relationship, Classical Latin as a love language, violence and gore, coping with broken families, and how the brutal toll of war and trauma changes people.
But at the heart of it all, it's about a love that eclipses everything else.
