“This isn’t a big deal,” Marie insisted, tugging at the hem of her tee and glancing at the mirror. “We hang out all the time.”
Emma raised an eyebrow. “Uh-huh. And why are you suddenly dressed like a main character of a rom-com?”
Marie groaned. “It’s Valentine’s Day. They texted me to hang out. And now I can’t tell if it’s just, like… regular Jordan hangout, or if it’s… .” She waved a hand at her outfit as if it might explain everything.

Marie lives in delusion where the sky is green, grass is yellow and Jordan Li just isn’t that into her. So, when they ask her to hangout on a Tuesday that just happens to be the 14th of February she’s a little…thrown.

“First of all, you kissed me. Let’s get that straight. And second, I’m just saying that it could have been worse. Think of it this way–there’s way worse people to kiss. Like, imagine accidentally kissing Zarkon.”
“How would that even happen?” Keith questions, as if this is more than just a hypothetical.
“I dunno, but it’d probably suck. Especially ‘cause he’d def try to kill you after the fact. And probably before…and during. Anyway, my point is, as for people I could kiss, there are way worse people than you.” There’s a wave of silence that immediately follows this, carrying on so long that if it weren’t for Keith’s unsteady breathing, Lance would think that Keith fell asleep. “What? Is that weird to say?”
“Very weird,” Keith responds. Lance starts to fill with so much embarrassment that he wishes the Galra could attack the castle right then, so they wouldn’t have to continue the conversation. But then Keith clears his throat, suddenly reaching a hand in Lance’s general direction but landing on Lance’s pillow. “But I guess…as far as people I could kiss, you aren’t the worst.”Series

Occasionally he’d glance up, catch Lance watching, and he’d smile, soft and private in a way that was growing increasingly more common as his self—imposed distance fell away with time, the more his hands reached for others to hold onto, let himself be touched, kisses on his head and cheek. Lance would feel that familiar heat licking at his cheeks, his neck, and he’d go back to paying attention to the speaker, entirely aware of Keith’s eyes tracing his face, his posture.
So.
Yeah.
Things had been different. Not bad. But different.
But god help him, the curiosity was killing him.

Summary
Split second of darkness. Lance huffing their oxygen in like it is unlimited. Dull thud. That’s definitely going to bruise if he keeps it up.
“Lance,” Keith bit out, without meaning too, “You are kicking me every time you do that. Stop squirming.”
Lance gasped in offense, his voice pitched high and whiny, “I am not kicking you! You just put your legs on my side of the pod!”
Keith took a deep breath through his nose, wasting about one full minute of their oxygen supply. He kept his eyes, dutifully, off Lance’s face. He didn’t want to look at him. He didn’t want to have one of his Lance Freakouts this up-close and personal with the subject of the freakouts.
***Or, Keith and Lance get stuck in a pod, with less than a foot between them. It would be making Keith blush like a schoolgirl, but his blood is rushing elsewhere- the massive hole in his gut he's trying to hide from Lance.
