Summary
Nori has been a thief for as nearly as long as she can remember. Ever since their mother died, she and her brothers have been barely surviving. When there's no honest work to be had, the desperate will turn to whatever means of survival they can find. And it's not as though the nobles she steals from don't deserve it; parading around in their riches as though there aren't dwarves starving around practically every corner.
So she steals; because there's no hope of their lives ever getting better otherwise. There's no one who will ever care if they live or die. Certainly none of the pretentious rich folk Dori can occasionally find security work with.
They have no one but each other, and they never will.
But, what if she's wrong?Or, I wrote a female Nori into my AU, Earth Walkers, and became obsessed with her. This is a companion to that story, and there will be references and spoilers for that work, but I do think you could read this one without reading Earth Walkers.

Tolkien's works were her parents' favorite, and they passed on that love to her before they died. They always talked as though it were real-and as a child, she believed it-but she's an adult now, her parents have been gone for years, she knows that none of it is real.
But when someone from her past suddenly reappears, with an incredible story, she finds herself being thrust into a world she believed to be fiction. Can she change the future or will the world she grew up dreaming be doomed to destruction?This story literally started because I (who loves the Hobbit and LOTR but doesn't know a whole lot about Tolkien's other works) was like "If it's called Middle-Earth, that implies there are other Earths." So here we are.
