Summary
The only thing that I could focus on was the fact that my grasp on life was weakening. Slowly I sank away in the darkness that was trying to pull me under, a frightening pitch of black where all nightmares housed, even though I couldn't recall what those where supposed to be.

Summary
For as long as Zuko can remember, he's had the flowers in his lungs. He's kept them secret from everyone but his closest family, which hasn't always been easy, but he's had no other choice--the flowers are a sign of weakness. His father was sure he wouldn't survive long, but he's made it to 16, and he's joined Team Avatar. However, old habits die hard--can he still keep the flowers secret from them now that he's living with them?
One day is particularly worse than the others. Zuko has a flare-up.
Important notes: it's complete! it has a HAPPY ending! nobody dies! I was trying to use the concept of "flowers for unrequited love" without getting bogged down in crying about being forever alone. I repeat: HAPPY ENDING

There Is No Fire Lord by OccasionalStorytelling for MuffinLance

Summary
This is an AU for MuffinLance's "zuko botches his escape attempt and spends the rest of the war in prison then has to be Fire Lord having never gotten his redemption arc" Towards the Sun. This is more of a "zuko botches his escape attempt and spends the rest of the war in prison, and then when he becomes Fire Lord they leave him in prison" kind of thing.
After committing treason, Zuko spends months in prison, and even after both his father and Azula go missing, the guards can't coax him out of his cell. And then the Avatar shows up. How's the Gaang supposed to talk to a Fire Lord who doesn't even believe he's the Fire Lord?

Summary
The man’s voice once again broke him from his thoughts; “In my dreams I see them tortured by Fire Nation soldiers. I see my entire culture wiped from the South, our footprint upon the ice shelves gone as though we never existed, our connection with the spirits and our ancestors forgotten.” He was silent for the briefest of moments, then, “You’re Fire Nation, aren’t you?”
Zuko rolled onto his side, facing the wall, scar pressed into the arm that cushioned his head. “Once, maybe.”
“Answer me this, then; when will this war see it's end?”
Zuko, recalling the fire that had burned in Azula’s sunlit gaze the day she’d caught up to him, chose not to respond.
