“You can't just ask people why they want to kill themselves!” He stresses. “Nobody does that!”
The man shrugs. “Why not?”
“Because–! Because…!” Izuku trails off, huffing. This man is probably just making fun of him at this point.
“Maybe,” The man's voice is noticeably lower. Izuku looks up, and immediately feels as if all the breath had been punched from his lungs. Bent down inches from Izuku's face, the man continues. “If more people asked, you wouldn't have been up here in the first place, hn?”
“I..–” And Izuku hates how logical that sounds. He hates all of this. So much.
His eyes begin to burn. Tears do not fall.
“I'm quirkless.” Izuku admits in a whisper. Ready for this all to be over. Ready for the man to sneer and walk away. Ready to turn around, climb right back over the railing, and lean forward.
Or, drowning in rejection and hurt, Izuku meets someone who will change the course of his fate. For better, or for worse, only time will tell.

Summary
Shigaraki needs the world to remember him. As with any being that has been wished into existence, to be forgotten is its own form of death.
But the modern world has no use for a God of Decay, so he's forced to change his approach for recognition. Disposing of menacing phantoms and taking on random odd jobs from humans occupy his days now. A green-haired abandoned shinki littered with scars catches Shigaraki's attention. Claiming him as his second shinki, he learns the boy's tragic past life and vows to keep him close.
Day Seven of ShigaDeku week, the prompt being Crossover. This is a crossover/fusion with Noragami. It has a lot of potential for a much larger story, which is why I'm leaving it open as a multi-chapter fic so I can return to expand on it in the future.

Summary
the quirk boom was crazy. It changed society as we know it. So why was magic appearing so strange? Right as the quirk wars ended magic started appearing. as it slowly spread the world wasn't ready for another war. By the time people started using magic quirks were the norm, magic was so unknown, not straightforward like most quirks seemed. but when monsters started appearing, magic and quirks had a new target, quickly the age of villains was changed to the age of hunters.
This changed the original timeline. It changed the path of afo and ofa forever. And it changed Midoriya Izuku and Shimura Tenko most of all.
Or
