Despite being an insomniac, Vi dutifully goes to bed every night with Caitlyn. However, that provides her ample time to her own thoughts, mainly if she is doing enough as a girlfriend. Such thoughts gradually morph to how much she absolutely adores her girlfriend. And although she may spend hours on end simply doing nothing but bask in the presence of her girlfriend on those lazy mornings, Vi really wouldn't trade it for anything else.

It was more than kindness, however, that kept Vi by Caitlyn’s side; the former was lost, caught between two warring worlds in a manner that could not be rectified. She had no home in Zaun, where Silco’s old goons would stop at nothing to fetch the pride of her head on a spike. Aside from Caitlyn, she was valued as a tool rather than a human, of no use when her fists weren’t swinging in Piltover’s favour.
She’d let go of the childish wish for a family long ago and resigned herself to avenging the integrity of Caitlyn’s, no matter how it pained her. Perhaps, between the two of them, Vi was the one who’d lost herself the most.

Violet, on the other hand, was tied to the city through her dangerous work. Although Caitlyn desperately wanted to stay away and overlook the clues that revealed her dangerous lifestyle, giving in to Vi was inevitable.

Summary
Familiars and Mages have had a symbiotic relationship for ages, Familiars help mages control and focus their magic while Mages help to drain a familiar’s internal magic stores to avoid magic poisoning. When a mage and their magic come of age, they summon their familiar from their realm forming a bond with them.
Vi’s magic had blossomed late and grew slowly, now that she was finally at the proper level, she is ready to take the next step and summon a familiar. Excited and a little nervous to see who/what her magic pairs her with.
Caitlyn had been summoned once before, ages ago when she was still young, curious and innocent. Her mage had been like a dream until that dream turned into a nightmare she had to escape from. She had never been the same since, now cold and withdrawn the scars a reminder never to trust another human mage again even as she is determined never to be summoned again even if it kills her.
Vi has a challenge in front of her as she juggles getting her familiar to trust her, her growing and unstable magic, all while a threat emerges from the shadows gaining power with their eyes set on an even bigger prize.

Vi leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms back over her chest as a slow, almostl azy smile curled at the edges of her lips. "I'll do my part. Don't worry about it, princess."
The nickname made Caitlyn's jaw clench. She wasn't used to be called that, especially not in such a condescending tone. She turned to face Vi fully, trying to keep her composure. "I'd prefer if you didn't call me that."
