Summary
Soulmates were thought to be the most intimate aspect of a person's life. The sharing of pain and emotions were claimed to bring the two people closer together so that they could be in tune with each other. Tim Drake had lost all hope of getting a happy ending with his soulmate, knowing that his chances were nonexistent after living through the same pain that Jason Todd experienced when he died. But years later when he feels a similar pain, there's no other explanation other than the return of his soulmate. But who ever heard of such a thing?

Summary
It sucked that Tim couldn't trust his family. They had either been his abusers or bystanders, but even when he tried to take himself off their hands, they clung to him like a sticky residue. Trapped, he felt like a mouse beneath a cat's paw, and he knew the only escape would be a clean-cut break with no room for interpretion.
Somehow, they made room for interpretation.
“Bruce,” Tim rasped, his discarded Red Robin suit a thousand pound weight in his hands, clean and ready to go in its case. “You don’t even *like* me.”
The truth dangled between them like a spider’s web clinging to separate walls.To no one’s shock, Batman said nothing. The only sounds in the cave were the shuffling of bats and Tim’s bike rumbling softly at the entrance, waiting patiently for him to make his escape.

“Kon is getting an apartment,” Tim says and his fingers are digging into his lifeline. “He needs a roommate.”
He doesn’t, but Tim prays he won’t mind.
“Where?” Dick demands then winces at his tone.
“San Francisco,” Tim answers.
Tim was never meant to be a permanent part of the Batfamily. He took on the role of Robin because Batman needs a Robin, but Batman has a Robin and even more people in his corner now and he doesn’t need Tim.
or Tim is used to putting his wants up on a shelf in favor of what the people around him need, but maybe it’s time for him to take them down, dust them off, and see what’s inside.

The room drops into complete silence.
Bruce stares at him, confused.
The rest of the family stares at him, confused.
Bruce clears his throat. “Well, yes, um—Tim, that’s… well, you know, that would be because I adopted you,” he says hesitantly.
Tim almost breaks. The anxiety keeps him from laughing, but he does manage a small smile. “Yes, that’s right, Bruce—but that’s not what I meant. While I was cleaning up, I found some documents in my parents’ study. A birth certificate, to be exact, and… well, it didn’t say Jack and Janet Drake on it like I was expecting.”
Understanding dawns on their faces.
“You were adopted by Jack and Janet?” Bruce asks.Or
Tim finds his biological parents.

Cuh sounds and guh sounds are difficult for Tim. Mommy says he'll get the hang of them if he keeps practicing though.
“That's okay, Tim,” blue man smiles again. “How old are you?”
Tim knows this one. He's been working really hard on his numbers. “Four!” He holds up four fingers. “That's this many!”

Four-year-old Tim is having a sleepover with the Waynes. He just wishes he knew when his parents were going to call.
(Meanwhile, Tim's family are trying desperately to avoid letting him know that until yesterday he was seventeen – and that his parents won't call him ever again.)

He hesitated, hesitated but nonetheless replied, “I got blasted by cuddle pollen. It’s why I tripped. It’s why I got caught.”
The line went dead silent.
Tim clenched his fists as the pale figure uncovered his face. “I’m sorry.”
The line split off into a cacophony of sounds. But Tim couldn’t hear any of it, because the stone and crumbles of cement and wood slipped off the purple suit and the pale man sat up, a hand going to his sickeningly green hair.
He was trapped. Trapped within a building’s remains with a conscious Joker, dipped head-to-toe in cuddle pollen which was already starting to become close to unbearable without human touch.
OR
A cuddle-pollened Tim gets stuck in a collapsed building with the Joker.

Tim stares down at the mask in his lightly trembling hands. It's smooth, a deep and rich green color that brings to mind the idea of life. Of green leaves and vibrant grass and living things.
Tim thinks--frequently but privately, never aloud--that he is a dead man walking. He has been since the first time he put on this suit, tears in his eyes as he sullied what should have stayed a pure symbol of hope, light, and freedom. So this green color? It doesn't suit him at all. It's far too beautiful and lively for that.
Tim Drake spends most of the second half of his life trying to kill himself.
Maybe someday he'll succeed.

Something thick and ropelike slithered lightning fast up his body. It wrapped its way around his thigh and tangled up one of his arms, trapping it around his waist. Tim jerked back from the spray, blinking water out of his eyes.
Shadows had taken over the shower wall in front of him. “Jason,” he gasped.
The giant wall of shadow in front of him sharpened and formed a shape, then features, then a face. Jason’s shirtless upper body emerged from the inky wall. He’d given up most of his human illusion, with the whites of his eyes turned black and the green in them glowing, the pupils catlike. Two horns curled out of his temples and, when he grinned, fangs peeked out.
“Timmy,” he said pleasantly. “You let your guard down so easily.”
“I’m in the shower,” Tim said.

Tim's too busy catching his breath as he lands back on the rooftop where he left his brothers that it takes him a second to realize it.
It is in a moment that Tim realizes that he has severely miscalculated. He’d been sparse regarding the details of his international trip that led to the evidence required to save Bruce from the time stream. He had near forgotten that he had changed the dynamic of the place Damian was raised. He had forgotten that the boy continued to fear the mantle he was created for. Tim had forgotten that Damian was simply a scared child who lashed out at Tim to ensure that they needed him. Tim already knew what it was like to desperately be needed in order to protect himself. He’d simply forgotten that he wasn’t the only one.
...In which Tim's secrets are not worth his family's fear.
