“I said it one time, one! Didn’t even do it, just wanted to get a rise out of you—and sorry to burst your bubble Baby Face, but if you assassinate a bitch, you’ll end up in a maximum security joint all by your lonesome,” Mickey said, the line falling into eerie stillness for a few beats. “Wouldn’t mind if you choked me out though.”
Ian took a long pull from his beer, cheeks flaming up. “I forgot how much you liked that.”

Summary
“Fiona’s probably gonna do ninety days.”
“Fuck,” Mickey replies. “Where?”
“Decatur Correctional. Where the hell is that?”
“Three hours out of the city.” Mickey sits with his back to the wall, legs dangling over the side of the bed. Lighting a cigarette would only earn him another lecture, so he slicks back his hair just for something to do with his hands.
“How’d you know that?” Ian asks, smelling chum in the water, the observant little fuck. “Not like your brothers are getting sent to lady prison all that often.”
Mickey thumbs at his lip, trying to find a way out of this conversation. It probably wouldn’t be too hard to distract Ian just by taking of his pants, but he is trying this new thing where he actually tells Ian what’s going on in his head.
“No.” He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “It’s my mom.”

Summary
After what happened with Mickey and Svetlana, Ian couldn't deal. He couldn't stay and watch Mickey fake his way through life with his wife. So he ran. He joined the Army and never looked back. Six years. It's been six years since Ian and Mickey have spoken.
When Ian's life starts to fall apart, he reaches out to the one person from his past he can't seem to forget. He asked Mickey to meet up, so they can finally talk about their history together. He's ready to forgive and be forgiven. He's hopeful he'll be able to clear his conscience, finally get some closure and move on with his life.
That's not exactly what happens.
