Summary
The first time that Jawbone found himself in the Compass Points Library had (largely) been completely unplanned. That is not to say that he did not enjoy his time there - in fact he would say quite the opposite - just that he came in not knowing what to expect. He had obviously met Ayda a few times and heard stories about her day in and day out from both her best friend and her paramour. But seeing the girl in her element, he began to understand far more about her.
“Jawbone O’Shaughnessey, father of my best friend Adaine O’Shaughnessey, and of my paramour Figueroth Faeth. Why are you at the Compass Points Library today?”

She was beginning to think that they may have different definitions of scary - because this was the most out of her element that she had ever felt.

She got to school early and her teachers told her that they were very excited to have her for the year. Katja didn’t quite get why, but she thought it might have something to do with her dad sharing a name with the building.

He stepped out of the dressing room before the hosting queen could protest. Kingston's face bore a concerned look which didn't fade as they stepped into the hallway.
"Well, when you text me ‘Please come immediately, I need help’, did you not expect me to show up as soon as possible? Pete, break it down. What’s going on?"
"I don't think I can do this, Kingston. I saw downstairs - there's so mаny people there! Why did I pick such a big fucking club for my first show?" The words spilled out of him the moment the door closed behind him, no longer making any attempt to keep up a facade of nervous excitement.

“It doesn’t make any sense!” She exploded. “When do the twelve days start? December 8th? 9th? 21st? Does the aforementioned “true love” give them a gift every day, or is the speaker reinstating the gifts they have already received? And if they are receiving a gift each day, do they thus have as many as 12 copies of said gift? Why would they make a song this confusing and play it every year? Has no one else questioned its contradictory nature?”
Fig took a moment to take in all of Ayda’s questions. Wow, she’s clearly thought a lot about this one. She opened her mouth to start down the list, but stopped. When does the song start? How many gifts do they get? She simply didn’t know.
