Fifty years after his banishment, Xie Lian finds himself captured by bandits and subsequently sold into slavery. Xie Lian has a curse placed on him and spends the next twenty years suffering from extreme sexual and physical abuse. Life becomes pointless and painful and Xie Lian wishes he could end it all, if only he could die. Salvation comes unexpectedly one day when he is rescued by San Lang, the first person to show him kindness in so many years. Sadly, it seems Xie Lian is unable to fully escape his life of abuse as he grapples with the struggles that come with readjusting to the real world after so many years in isolation and that curse that was placed on him that seems to have cure he's not too enthusiastic about.
